The Author

image of Lincoln Center in New York CityRobin loves to be entertained.  He was born in New York City.  He grew up listening to some of the original boy and girl bands like the Temptations and the Supremes.  He lived close to the famed Apollo Theater and attended many shows there.  It wasn’t long before he found himself listening to other great performers around the city.   You might have found Robin attending a Jaco Pastorius concert at Lincoln Center, or The Wiz on Broadway.  You could just as likely found Robin watching a local street band at the community block party.  Robin loves music!

Robin also loves dance.  He appreciates music and dance in all of it’s forms, from ballet to K-pop.  He grew up with dancers.  Some of his friends attended Julliard (the renowned school of performance art). He often watched them as they practiced their arts.  He also has a daughter who performed as a child in many dance competitions.  Robin has an understanding of the massive training dancers undergo, and the dedication it takes.  It’s not surprising Robin has fallen for K-pop.  It’s in his blood!

HE LOVES MUSIC

Robin is a bassist.  His love of music started with the beat of 1960’s R&B and Jazz.  If it has a bass line, Robin loves it.  And if it’s K-pop – well you’ll see.  Some of Robin’s favorites  are:

K-pop: AOA and EXID.
R&B: Marvin Gaye, Isley Brothers, Isaac Hayes, Curtis Mayfield.
Jazz: Donald Byrd, Andreas Vollenweider, Bobbi Humphrey, Michael Hedges, Ramsey Lewis.
Funk: Sly & the Family Stone, Parliament Funkadelic.
Rock: Allman Brothers, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Heart, Renaissance.
